For too long I've been caught in a rut. An outfit rut. Any creativity that once existed when I put together an outfit died. When exactly, I don't know, but I'll estimate about a-very-long-time-ago-ish. And it's only now as that creativity's rotting corpse decays in my wardrobe that I'm hit not only with the putrid stench of boring, but also the realisation of how mundane and repetitive my everyday outfit choices have become.
While I've always shared the fashion ideology 'anything goes'- there are no rules- I've only just begun to live by it. This outfit to many of you might not be a particularly daring or controversial one. And in terms of the ones I see and admire online too, it doesn't even come close. While polka dot and floral might seem like a no brainer, it wasn't something I initially picked. And it actually took a little while for me to come around to it. With such busy patterned, colourful shorts, I'd usually pick a top with a solid colour from the print in a simply cut style. Yawn. That's boring Izzy talking. I'm now stepping out. If only slowly. Very slowly.
