Boo! It's that time of year again. Halloween. I trust you've had a wicked party already if you celebrate it. Unfortunately, it's not something really done here in Australia. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate some pretty amazing costumes. 

SPECKLED SWING

What's better than a swing? Only going on it while wearing your favourite jumper. Now this speckled  wooly sweater-dress was an impulse buy, but became one of my favourite everyday wears this past winter. Team it with shorts and there's a transitional season outfit sorted. No fuss. Just super simple stuff.

The speckled, bright coloured weave of this jumper reminds me of 100s and 1000s: the sprinkles on cupcakes. Cupcakes and playgrounds. Ahhh, the childhood memories. While taking these photos I rediscovered my love for swings. Why not re-visit and take the time to appreciate the simple (maybe even childish) things in life?

JAIL HOUSE ROCK

We all need a little flare in our lives. Though it seems I took this quite literally. A dress with pleather, flared should pads. Of course it definitely added a little spark to my wardrobe. But I'll be the first to say. This is not an everyday dress.

While I love things a little left of centre, this dress can be a little bit of a challenge. (It's not for everyone.) To wear it, and wear it well requires extra confidence and personality. But once it's on and I'm in my groove. There ain't nothing stopping me. (Maybe because it's a little bit Gaga.)

Cameo Lover

Recently I've found myself ogling over the higher quality, more timeless, structured, and flattering pieces. But don't mistake this for a 'boring' fashion taste. Not by any means. And leading my lust list is Cameo. I made my first Cameo purchase just this week. Yay! It may be from their back catalogue and generously marked down (of course), but that hasn't dampened my excitement at all. Just take a look below at their latest collection. Maybe you'll fall for Cameo just like me...

KIMONO CASTAWAY

A day by the river requires a few things. A linen dress. A colourful kimono. A pair of Lennon inspired sunglasses. And sunshine. My advice: Keep it simple with the amount of layers and accessories. Instead make your outfit standout with colours, patterns and prints.

Kimonos. They're extremely comfortable and effortless to wear. This one in particular, stole my heart. No need to ask why. Quirky polka dots and orange flowers get me every time. But, regardless of it's wonder, it's notoriously difficult to photograph. I hope you can grasp at least some of it's real life beauty.

SIDE NOTE: Yesterday, just toddling through the internet. Going through all my favourite sites. I opened up the Chictopia homepage, totally unsuspecting. And BOOM! Who should I see but me! It may only be a few small pixels, but eh... I did squeal a little. Thought I'd share a screen cap with you all.

WILD THING

Roar! Coolness is often a subjective quality. But there is one exception. This jacket. Not only does it attract strangers' compliments (which is always lovely), but it's character oozes onto me. Never do I have more swag. Never do I have more attitude. Never do I have more confidence, then when I throw this jacket on. 

There's something nice, metaphorically speaking, that only those behind you can see how unique (and awesome) you are. While those in front, those I'm chasing down, only see a relatively simple, but very misleading, facade. Deep down inside I feel like a bit of a 'wild thing', willing to fight for what I want. And this jacket, doesn't even scratch the surface...
