GET PREPPY

The return of an old favourite. The loveable, practical and oh-so re-wearable, square pants. But this time teamed up with the rather low sensible heel of my affectionately known 'Librarian' shoes. Sorry Litas (still love you).

It's hard to wear a black and white and green outfit without looking school-nerd-eqsue. So rather than fight it, I embraced it. Dorky, awkward socks. Check. Daggy* lace up shoes. Check. White shirt with pocket to hold calculator and pens. Check. Sure, the overall result might be a little a less geeky than these words describe (I would hope so). But the principle remain the same.

*Daggy- Aussie slang for uncool, unfashionable, but oh so comfortable

Tumbling XIV

Life should be in black and white. It makes for such striking images. Leather jackets. Jewelry. Flowing dresses. Crochet. It all looks better in black and white.

MODERN ROMANTIC

Nothing makes me feel more like a lady than white lace. So romantic. Add a high neck line and some frills around the hemline and I'm in heaven. Can it get any better than this? Oh yeah! It also has cute buttons down the back.

But I'm no girly girl. Well, at least not most of the time. So I had to rough this baby up a bit. Kick ass studded boots and a pair of 'too cool' Ray Bans. (And some super rebellious creases.) Then stand me next to a dirty cement wall and some commercialist graffiti. Ladies and gentlemen, here you have it. My modern twist on a romantic classic.

Simpler Times

While I consider myself to be quite young, recently I have found myself tutting the doomed cliche: "Back in my day." Sure, 'my day' might not have been as far back as others, and I know I still have many more days to come, but I can't help but reflect on the simpler fashion of days gone by. When quality trumped quantity. When the basics were all you needed. One pair of boots. One bag. There wasn't any time, or money, to mess around buying crazy prints or fabrics. When you wore the same clothes over and over, and all your friends knew your 'signature outfit'. When you outwore your clothes before you grew tired of them. I remember. It was the simple life.

PARK BENCH

Sitting. Waiting. Wishing. There is no greater place to watch the world go by than a park bench. Providing a place for it's occupant, you or me, to get lost in thought. A chance to ponder the wonders of the universe, or turn our mind to simpler things, like how we regret our choice of shoe for the day. Bloody blisters. 

It's nice to withdraw from reality and rest on a bench. Observation ultimately leads to a better understanding of the world, or at least that's what I tell myself. I like to 'people watch' as much as the next person, but eventually we have to resume our place in reality. To leave the comfort of the park bench, and be observed by other people on other benches.

COLLISION COURSE

Bold, shambled prints aren't for the faint hearted. Lucky for me, when the prints on these shorts collide, it makes for something quiet beautiful. Trust an Aussie label, August Street, to rise to the challenge.

Bright colours. Striking design. Unbelievably comfortable. Not to mention the quality. I cannot rave more about this brand. Pieces pretty much guaranteed to slot into any wardrobe. I'm on a mission to get more of this delicious print in my closet.

Tumbling XIII

Real leather. Faux leather. I love it all. Skirts. Shorts. Pants. Tops. Jackets. Bags. Shoes. I love them all in leather. It's no longer a tacky 70s rock tribute. It's about sophistication, attitude and sex appeal. Ahhhh leather, my dear friend, how are you just so damn cool?

LIKE A DREAM

Unfortunately, this isn't my house. But it will be one day. I know you can't see much of the house itself.  So I'll leave you to imagine its majestic beauty from the fence alone. Ahhh... a girl can dream.

Speaking of dreams, how dreamy is this dress? (Rhetorical question.) It's my ultimate romantic, girly dress. Lace details, delicate hemline, and simple beading makes me feel oh so ladylike. It's refreshing to embrace femininity, in a more traditional sense, for a change.
