STARS AND STRIPES

It's not very often I get stars in my eyes. But can you blame me when I saw this button down shirt? Now it's unusual for me to be so drawn to an Americana piece. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for patriotic clothing, only I live in Australia and our national flag seems to just find its way onto bikinis. And to wear any other country's flag, well that's 'un-Australian'. Luckily the subtleness of the stars and stripes, and the rough vintage effect helps me fly under the radar. I think it's far more 'tres cool' than treason. Oh and did I mention how soft and warm it is. Look out winter.

And welcome, to my newest addition of Jeffrey Campbell shoes. (I'm counting 3 pairs as a collection. At least it's a start.) I've shared my love and admiration for the first 2 pairs here, and this time isn't going to be any different. If you want a pair of platform heels that are so comfortable and give you height without having that awful chunky hoof look (yeah, you know what I'm talking about) Jeffrey is your man, well, shoe. They really are the perfect platform heel.

SPACE ODDITY

Oh no. She's wearing the same shorts as her last post. And the same shoes. Well, I'm a real person and I re-wear clothes. Sometimes even twice in one week. Shock. Horror. But I guess there's a lesson to be learned here. It's the top that makes the outfit. I've always believed that and now here's some proof. Last time I wore a sheer, button up blouse, which made for a more chic, smarter look. This time, it's a lot more 'casual cool' and laid back. Ergo, change the top, change the vibe.

Now I know this top and background has a lot going on. It's somewhat overwhelming. But I happen to love visual chaos. In fact, chaos of any kind. 'Boring' for me is the ultimate sin. I think that's why I'm drawn to graffiti so much. It makes any city interesting and creates it's unique charm. Anything galactic too is a source of wonder and intrigue for me. It's a never ending supply of mystery and discovery. If you embrace the little oddities, like local street art or a shooting star, life will seldom be boring.

ABOUT TO FALL

Summer is almost over. It's about to Fall. Well, seeing as I'm Australian, it's about to Autumn. And while I'm not one to let the season dictate how I feel (I never understood those people who said they were a 'Winter' or 'Spring' person), I can't help but notice a little sadness for the passing of Summer this year.

Maybe it's the knowledge that soon my collection of peculiar shorts will have to retire for hibernation in my wardrobe. Or that soon I'll have to wear more than a bra under my sheer blouses. Oh the First World problems...I might have to jump from where I stand. From the outside of a building. A whole 50cm fall.

Woah! Rare sighting. I'm wearing my hair out. The first time on my blog. I've never been good at hair. What do you guys think?
