BIRDS OF PARADISE

Florals. The prints that are out there can often be much of a muchness. You can get 'daisies' or 'roses' on everything from pants to scarves. The predictability has really got me bored. But I can't just stop wearing floral prints all together. No. I must search for the perfect, unique print out. And that is what I did. Please welcome, the subtle blue take on 'birds of paradise'.

WINTER WISH

If you're up to date with the Australian fashion blogosphere, you might well be aware of this. But for those of you who aren't, let me fill you in. Bloggers from all around Australia have been challenged by Wish and Honda to create the ultimate 'Winter in the City' look. Lucky for us, the challenge was made a whole lot easier because we were able to base our look around a piece from Wish.

I chose the Interlace Playsuit for two reasons. Number one, because where I live (shout out to Brisbane) it's always appropriate weather to wear a playsuit. Number two, the gorgeous print melts into the city scape, almost as if it were inspired by a high rise facade. I then styled it off with a pair of heels and a blazer- both black of course, because it's not truly winter unless you're wearing a lot black.

A big thank you to Wish for inviting me to be a part of this style challenge. You can check out more looks by other bloggers by searching #wishhondacity on Instagram and Twitter. Also, you can find Wish on Facebook and Twitter, and why not check out Honda Australia's Facebook and Twitter as well.

BLANK CANVAS

Necklace. We don't really hang out that much, but when we do, we always make it a statement occasion. I am sorry for all the times I leave in the draw when I just want my understated look to be as minimal as possible- which I know, is far too often. But the truth is, I forgot how much you can make an outfit pop. Necklace, you took this blank canvas of an outfit, and breathed new life into it. You made heads turn. Without you, my outfit would fade into obscurity as just another bland, monochrome creation.

PINK LEMONADE

This is out of the ordinary. If you look closely. (Well, not even that closely). You might notice that this outfit does not even have a speck of black! And on top of that, pink is my least worn colour. (This dress is the only pink thing I have in my wardrobe.) But what is most surprising of all, is that I feel so comfortable, so 'Izzy', in this outfit. They say change is a good as holiday. And it sure is refreshing to step out in something unexpected.

ORANGE YOU GLAD

Sleeveless. Jersey. Swing. Add all these qualities together, and I present to you- the most comfortable dress ever! I know something so basic is not for everyone. But I like to think with this version I've shown how you dress this staple piece up a little with a statement necklace and an on-trend shoe. I cannot recommend having one (or ten) of these dresses in your wardrobe enough. Seriously. You would be glad you did.

CRACKED PAINT

This print is too phenomenal not to wear twice... In two different items. (See the dress post here.) It's no secret that I adore monochrome outfits. The sleek, effortless sophistication of them tempts me everyday. However, there can be too much of a good thing, and wearing plain, block-coloured black and white pieces can get tiresome. So I'm constantly on the search for a fresh monochrome print to reignite interest in what might otherwise be a fairly predictable outfit. 'Cracked paint' you have answered my prayers, and are quickly becoming a favourite in my wardrobe.

BABY GOT BACK

Well hello. I bet this wasn't something you were expecting. What can I say? Baby got back. I know it's a little different for me, but there's just something about having an open back that feels so liberating. It's fun. It's cheeky. But oh so sophisticated and feminine.
