PASTEL PALAZZO

Palazzo pants. They aren't for everyone. Not a lot of people wear them. And to be honest, they don't suit a lot of people. But not one to shy away from a challenge, especially not a twenty dollar challenge, I decided to give the palazzo a chance.

I'll admit it. Even I was hesitant buying this baby, pastel blue colour. But it turns out to be really easy to style. Simple crochet, long pearl necklace, and... that's all. My love for palazzo has extended beyond the blogs and street style where it first caught eye and right into my wardrobe.

Tumbling VIII

Hair envy. Always one to be late jumping on the bandwagon, I've only recently fallen for colourful locks.  I don't know if I'd ever be game enough myself. (What colour to choose?) But at least I can appreciate it's beauty with pictures like these...

MAKESHIFT GYPSY

Ever feel like you've just got to get away from it all? Well today I did. So I embraced my inner gypsy. Long skirts, baggy kimonos, layers of jewellery, and clunky old boots. There's something about the combination of maxi skirt and fringing that makes me feel so relaxed.

But of course clothes only address the issue on the surface. Despite my free spirited gypsy attire, everything that I was wanting to be rid of was still there (which can be summed up as 'responsibility'). You see, I was only a makeshift gypsy. But it was nice to escape. If only for a moment. If only through my clothes.

Smells Like Inspiration

Grunge-esque outfit inspiration. I know it's not to everyones taste. But recently I've been feeling the need to adopt some band shirts, denim cut-offs, and a pair of docs into my wardrobe. I think it's the 90s kid in me... And if it can't happen in real life (damn you money), at least I can pretend virtually on polyvore.

MOUNTAIN HIGH

River deep. Mountain high. Much like my love for this scenic sweater. Usually I would shy away from such a bold and encompassing print. Fearing it would be too hard to dress. But actually, it's quite the opposite. No need for accessories. Just pick a colour from the print for your shorts or skirt (or pants) and you're done.

Snow covered mountain peaks. Crisp, clear lakes. Pine tree forests. All of which, Australia lacks. So in a rather contrasting fashion, I decided to take pictures of this naturally beautiful landscape on my jumper, in the very unnatural and quiet unappealing local netball courts. I bet you'd know where I'd rather be...

Tumbling VII

Just an eclectic bundle of pictures that have me thinking of the simpler things in life. Great people. Great surroundings. And great style.

TARNISHED SAFARI

Brown of any sorts is a colour you'd rarely find me in. I see myself more as a 'black' person. Now, now. Not in terms of skin colour or race or anything political, just in terms of fashion. Many people are either one or the other. Black or brown. Today, I crossed over to the dark side. Which was, ironically, lighter. (If only just.)

Another big abnormality. I'm wearing gold. Well, a tarnished gold necklace, but that still counts. I know these earthy tones may appear a long way from my pastel, neon and general colour filled closet. But there's something about this outfit and this setting. It makes me feel adventurous. Like I'm on a suburban safari.

Guide to Online Shopping

"Bored with Sportsgirl, Dotti, and Myer? We are too. With every shop seeming to stock the same pieces, everyone is a walking store mannequin; no labels necessary. We've seen it all before. We know exactly where it's from. Yawn.

It's no secret Australia is a small and expensive pond in the world of fashion, but how ready are you to ship your threads in from another pond? Put your reservations aside, and have your Paypal account open, because ladies (and gentlemen) we're here to give you a no bullsh*t guide to online shopping."

This is the prelude to my article in the September issue of Peppa. It's my guide to shopping online. I warn you of the big scaries and tip you on my current top five. While I'm sure you're all too familiar with online shopping. Who knows. You might just learn something. Or be slightly entertained. Or at the very least, it might kill your boredom for a couple of minutes.

Apart from my article, there's also pieces on shooting guns, how girls can pick up guys, an interview with a burlesque dancer, movie reviews and much more.

Read it HERE.

DARK DYE

Say tie dye. First thoughts are often along the lines of bright, psychedelic, hippie, and fun. Well not today. Just to show that even the epitome of 'happiness' can be turned inside out and back to front. I introduce you to my 'dark dye' top.

It, like so many 'dark' things, is often misjudged and misunderstood. Sure navy and 'army' green aren't the most feminine colours. And maybe black lace doesn't scream girly. But there's a hidden beauty in the details. Flowers in the lace. And dainty capped sleeves. I couldn't feel more feminine, more girly, more bright, or more happy than in an outfit like this. Okay, maybe that's a bit of an overstatement. But I definitely don't feel as dark as it looks. Promise.

Tumbling VI

Warm weather and nothing to do. Perfect conditions for the beach. I hope the pictures below can take you back to your tropical paradise (metaphorically). This trip was the first for the 2012/2013 summer (even though it's still only spring). Here's to many more.
